Boris Johnson Resigns; Queen carefully looking over Boris Johnson’s honors list names

Boris Johnson’s hectic tenure as Britain’s Prime Minister ended on Thursday. It took the resignation of nearly 60 members of his government — almost half the payroll — for Johnson to finally abandon his attempts to cling on to power. Even then, the Prime Minister insisted that he would continue as a caretaker leader while the Conservative Party launches the process of choosing a successor.
“It is clearly now the will of the parliamentary Conservative Party that there should be a new leader of that party and therefore, a new prime minister,” Johnson stated in front of the famous 10 Downing Street door.
Meanwhile, the Queen does not want Boris Johnson’s honors list to ’embarrass’ her. She is keeping a close eye on Boris Johnson’s resignation through her aides.
The 96-year-old’s private secretary Sir Edward Young is ensuring Johnson will vet all recommendations that are not suitable for the Palace via constant contact with Cabinet Secretary Simon Case.
A royal insider told the i newspaper: “Sir Edward is aware of the unusual circumstances around any resignation honors proposed by Mr. Johnson and he has been assured that every effort will be made to avoid any embarrassment to her Majesty.”
