Known for her great sense of style, Saheefa Jabbar Khattak recently used her Instagram platform to sell a few of her pre-loved clothes online. But before she knew it, the model was criticized by netizens for holding a sale in these uncertain times and “misusing” her large following. Addressing the hate, the Log Kya Kahenge actor posted a series of Instagram stories, replying to the negative feedback she received merely on the basis of selling used items from her closet.

The products ranged from clothes from international high-street brand Zara to some from New Look, most of which were barely even worn by the model-cum-actor. “Hello, I hope you all are doing well and those who aren’t I pray that God blesses you with good health,” shared the style icon. “When I posted a collection of items regarding selling my clothes yesterday, many of you messaged with your own share of questions which left me confused to say the least. I was muddled whether I shall answer those queries but then I decided why not, incase anyone’s left with a misunderstanding,” she added.

Khattak listed down the questions that were thrown her way, which she thought to be both, cruel and offensive. “Why selling clothes when you seem like a rich person? Doesn’t your husband buy you any new clothes? Oh hello, who will buy your used clothes that too with such expensive price tag? It’s better to donate these clothes to underprivileged people than selling and profiting from them? Do you not feel any shame while selling these overpriced clothes?”

Following this, Khattak’s next Instagram story consisted of the answers she had prepared for her followers. “Is it necessary to always announce the good deed you’re about to perform?” began the 32-year-old starlet. “Is it also compulsory that anything a public figure does, has to be questioned with negativity? What will a less fortunate person do with ‘branded’ clothes when his first and last concern is to be able to afford a meal, must I feed them clothes?” she questioned.

Saheefa continued to justify the reason behind her decision for the sale. “I decided to host this so-called sale only to profit out of what I’m selling. The more I profit, the more I can give back to the people who are in dire need of some help. The dollar currency was on fire when I purchased the items myself.” She counter-questioned her followers by saying, “When you have the option to ignore, unfollow, block or remove the person you disagree with or do not like then why waste energy by leaving negative remarks?”

In her last story posted on the photo-sharing application, the model mentioned she has sold a couple of items by now and cannot help but thank the lovely buyers. To conclude, Khattak wished everyone a happy Ramazan and made a small prayer for those who criticised her. “Like every Ramzan, this year I pray that Allah melts the hearts of all of his people, softens them and makes them fragrant as ever. And for those who spew nothing but hate, make their tongues as sweet as gulab jamun.”
