Pakistani-Born US Citizen Dr. Asif Mahmood Wins California Primary


Dr. Asif Mahmood, a Pakistani-born US citizen, won the California primary on Wednesday, paving the way to run for the House of Representatives in the November mid-term elections.
Asif Mahmood, the Democrats’ candidate from California’s District 40, clinched the first phase of the race for the US Congress.
According to the figures, Dr. Asif Mahmood received 11% more votes than his Republican opponent Young Kim. It’s worth noting that Asif Mahmood was the Democratic Party’s single candidate in California’s District 40.
It is pertinent to mention here that two of the top winners from California will run for Congress in the November mid-term elections.
Dr. Asif Mahmood is from Kharian in Punjab. He cleared his MBBS from Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC).
