On Saturday, security forces killed six terrorists and murdered a soldier in a clearance operation in the hilly terrain of Sibi, Balochistan.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, security forces conducted an operation to detain terrorists “in general area Nagao Mountains, near Sibi, Balochistan” after receiving intelligence of their presence.
“Terrorists attempted to flee their hideout and opened fire on security personnel once the army began the clearance operation in the area,” the military’s media wing reported.
“In the ensuing exchange of fire, six terrorists from the BNA [Baloch National Army] were slain, including Naseeb Ullah Bangalzai alias Jahangir, Pir Jan, and Rakai Kalhoi.
“These terrorists were linked to the January 20 blast in Anarkali, Lahore, and were also implicated in recent security issues in Sibi and neighbouring [areas].”
Arms and ammunition were also found, according to the ISPR, which were meant to be utilised by terrorists to undermine peace and security in the area.
“A courageous son of soil, Sepoy Nisar embraced Shahadat while another two troops were hurt” during the operation.
The security forces, like the rest of the country, are resolved to thwart attempts to undermine Balochistan’s peace, stability, and growth, according to the ISPR.
