Three times local divas stunned on the red carpet

Red carpet looks are a hot topic throughout the year and during Cannes, they’re all the rage. But while we nitpick and knit pick, fashion continues to evolve and our fashionistas, have little choice but to keep up. So, as we dissect the charismatic looks brought to us by the likes of Deepika Padukone and Aishwarya Rai, let’s also redirect our readers’ attention to the way our home-grown celebrities have stunned us in the past so we can make notes for the future. And while we’re at it, let’s start from the base – the colour of the canvas, the pale white.

A colour too ‘minimal’ for the burgeoning extravagant red carpets, designers have not shied away from playing on its essence of elegance. Thus, here are some of our favourite white looks carried impeccably by celebrities in the past.

Maintaining the floral theme, she paired her couture gown with floral diamond earrings by Zoughaib and Co Styled by Michelet Collete, the actor had her hair swept to one side with minimal makeup accentuating her natural features. The simplicity of her jewellery, makeup and hair brought out the extravagance of her outfit making, this a look for the ages.

Sarwat Gillani

Our very own Churails actor Sarwat Gillani made her debut at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival for the screening of her film, Joyland, donning Sania Maskatiya.
